Christina began her college journey at MCC before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. After graduation, she served as a full-time substitute teacher at Roundy Elementary. This year, she steps into her new role as the 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher. Christina is excited to be part of the Columbus Schools and looks forward to a great year ahead!

She is entering her 25th year of teaching, with 22 years in early childhood education and 3 years in ESL. Today, staff at both Columbus buildings participated in a safety training refresher in cooperation with the Louisa County Sheriff's Office and our very own School Resource Officer, Zach Archer.
This important training ensures we are prepared to keep our students and staff safe in the event of an emergency. We are so grateful for the partnership and support from local law enforcement as we work together to maintain a secure learning environment.

As the At-Risk Counselor, Katie hopes to support students in achieving their academic goals while fostering a sense of belonging for all.
